She completed her master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Middle Tennessee State University and her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Alabama. Andrea is passionate about working with individuals from all walks of life and helping them along their journey with compassion and acceptance. L.B. Brown, LICSW
L.B. Brown (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) licensed in the state of Alabama with a passion for supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals. She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work at the University of Alabama and has over five years of experience working with diverse communities. L.B. has received her Perinatal Mental Health Certification through Postpartum Support International and is committed to closing the gaps in perinatal mental health care.
She takes a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy, tailoring each treatment plan to the individual’s unique strengths, goals, and lived experiences. Her counseling style is warm, interactive, and rooted in respect, compassion, and sensitivity — all essential for supporting birthing people through the challenges of pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.
Perinatal mental health is a significant public health concern, with research showing that up to 1 in 7 people experience postpartum depression. Despite this common occurrence, many individuals face barriers to support. Her work also extends to those navigating pregnancy loss and adoption, recognizing the unique emotional challenges that come with these experiences. L.B. provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for individuals to process grief, complex emotions, and the significant life changes that accompany these journeys. Her approach emphasizes compassion, healing, and empowerment as she walks alongside individuals during some of the most vulnerable times of their lives.

Katie (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who earned her master’s degree from the University of Alabama School of Social Work in 2019. She values collaborative therapeutic relationships that encourage curiosity and celebrate vulnerability. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with EMDR training. Clients can expect her to integrate tools from somatic therapy, psychodynamic therapy, emotionally focused individual therapy, and DBT. Katie accepts clients ages 18 and older who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, as well as difficulty with adjustment and attachment. Katie accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and private payments.
Kenzie (she/her) earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University and is dedicated to supporting individuals aged 18 and older through life’s challenges. Kenzie approaches her clients with empathy and compassion, taking a holistic view to meet them where they are on their path. She utilizes evidence-based therapies like Mindfulness-Based, Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Motivational Interviewing, along with Attachment Theory and a strengths-based approach. Olivia (she/her) earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama. She strives to create a warm, responsive, safe, collaborative environment where healing can begin. Whether you are struggling with navigating life changes, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use issues, relationships, or just need someone to talk to, Olivia is available to work with you and tailor treatment to your specific needs. She works with all backgrounds ages 12+ and is dedicated to providing support, tools, and knowledge necessary for growth. She will work with your frame of reference to provide client-centered care while utilizing CBT, DBT, narrative, existential, and trauma-informed techniques. She is under the supervision of Andrea Whitten, LPC-S and accepts BCBS insurance as well as private pay on a sliding scale.
Shirey Brown is an Associate Licensed Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama. She is dedicated to helping individuals find their sense of purpose and offers an empathetic, meaningful, and client-centered approach to the therapeutic experience. She is passionate about aiding others in finding solutions to daily and lifelong challenges such as complex trauma, grief, stress, relationship difficulties, performance anxiety, and identity discovery. Her background in competitive athletics and performing arts also allows her to connect deeply with student-athletes and high-achieving, people-pleasing individuals who operate in intense, performance-driven environments.
Shirey integrates therapeutic techniques of Existentialism, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), trauma-informed practices, and Psychodrama to collaborate with clients and create personalized treatment plans that support growth, healing, and a renewed sense of direction.

Clint (he/him) is a counseling intern currently earning his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama. He is interested in creating a warm, inviting, and compassionate space where people can explore identity, cultural, and social ideas safely and collaboratively. Clint strives to help individuals empower themselves and reconnect with values-based living, utilizing his background in gender and race studies to integrate trauma-informed therapeutic techniques and modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy.
Clint is currently practicing under the supervision of Andrea Whitten, Ph.D., LPC-S.
